Having spent 20 yrs in Consultancy running PM & QS practices Scott joined the Department for Education (DfE) late 2019 as head of the 'Modern Methods of Construction' programme.
The focus is on offsite construction and manufacture of education buildings.
The DfE have already had successful frameworks over the last 6 years with an off-site value of circa £2bn. The MMC1 framework launched at the beginning of 2020 takes the good work undertaken to date and accelerates the goal towards MMC.
The value of the MMC1 is caped at £3bn. The initial wave of DfE projects released into the framework in 2020 comprises 36 schools with a value circa £250m

The DfE commenced on MMC delivery for its school's programmes in 2015. We are now in our 5th generation of MMC / Off site delivery approaching £2bn of spend. What have we seen? What current challenges need to be addresses? What is our future?
